Itinerary Tips: Central London- North of River Walk

Overview

This walk is split into 2 parts these being daytime and evening. 

Highlights of our North of the River Sightseeing Day

Following our walk and timetable will make it an action packed but tiring day. Attractions you will visit include St Pauls Cathedral, Monument, Sky Garden, Tower of London, Churchill War Rooms, Westminster Abbey. Famous landmarks you will see on your walk include Parliament House/Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Horse Guards Parade Covent Garden, Leicester Square, St Dunstan in the East Church Garden,  Somerset House. You will also visit some well known streets these being Pall Mall, Regent Street, Jermyn Street, Savile Row, Burlington Arcade, Carnaby Street, Chinatown and with these some very well celebrated shops/department stores such as Fortnum and Mason, Hatchards Bookshop, Lilywhites, Hamleys, Liberty of London and of course some great pubs that include the Lamb and Flag (Once known as the Buckets of Blood- traditional old pub that takes you back in time), Punch & Judy (balcony overlooking the buskers in Covent Garden), Gordon's Wine Bar (One of London's oldest wine bars with a cave like feel) and Tattershall Castle (Pub on a boat overlooking the Thames) to finish the day with a beer or vino overlooking London's many attractions on the Thames.    

Important Things to Know

  • Make sure you have an Oyster Card, London Pass and comfortable shoes
  • You will need to pre-book the Sky Garden. It is free. Start looking for times a month before your departure.
  • Tower of London is best viewed on a free tour by the Yeoman's Wardens.
