The Alexandra (Clapham Common)

The Alexandra (affectionately known as the Alex by locals) is arguably London's most charming sports bar situated over two floors and possessing a strong Irish and Southern Hemisphere influence. The first floor has a charismatic old school wooden finish with a central bar that delivers a pub which is both intimate and oozing in atmosphere. The second floor offers a more open setting but fills up during major sporting events, making it a great environment to watch sport. The upstairs also acts as a function room that can be hired for special occasions. The Alex has the ability to show multiple sports(ESPN, British Sky/Irish Sky) and caters for all sports e.g. Rugby, Football (including Spanish and Italian leagues shown regularly) Gaelic football, Hurling and AFL(home to Wandsworth Demons AFL club). During the week the pub is an appealing place to have a drink(They serve some of the best Guinness in London) and for those needing to do some work or just play around online there is free wifi. The pub is also dog friendly but beware taking your four legged friend here during weekends as the pub can fill up quite considerably.
