The Maple Leaf (Covent Garden) is the spiritual home of the Canadian community in London and the place to gravitate to if you’re in need of some Nth American sport, food and hospitality or just want a good place to chill out. Adorned with memorabilia including a life size stuffed Bear, the pub has a cosy and friendly feel and is a relaxing place to catch up with friends, watch sport, rest from West End sightseeing or use their free wifi to do some work. The menu is a reasonably priced mix of traditional British/American food and of course possessing a strong Canadian influence to satisfy your homesick cravings. The Maple Leaf is one of the few places you can find Poutine in the UK and they also have an all days Canadian breakfast with maple syrup and pancakes. Monday night is wing night where for just £6 you get 20 wings with 5 different flavours to choose, these being BBQ, Fire Cracker, Chilli Bourbon, Honey & Soy or Sweet Chilli. Now it would not be a Canadian pub without beer from back home. Sleemans India Pale Ale and Honey Brown is served via the tap along with Coors Light. The pub also offers Moosehead Light Pale Ale, Moosehead Lager and Molson Canadian Lager from the fridge. Scaninavian Ice Hockey fans are also catered for with Rekorderling and Kopparberg cider. The pub has access to Sky Sports, Espn and Espn America and always looks to show the Ice Hockey when it can along with other Nth American sports, premiership football, International Rugby etc. Call to check whether they can show the game you are looking to watch. The first Monday of every month is when the Canadian Expats in London group meets up and is a great opportunity to make new friends and network. The biggest day of the years is July 1st for Canada Day where massive celebrations are held at nearby Trafalgar Square and of course the Maple Leaf. The pub is open Monday – Thursday 10-1, Friday/Saturday 10-12 and Sunday 12-10.30.
