Serpentine lido (Hyde Park)

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Hyde Park – the Serpentine Lido is one of London’s most convenient and popular outdoor swimming spots in London. It is also the oldest swimming club in London dating back to 1864. Head there for a casual swim or if you’re a keen swimmer this is also a popular spot for triathletes and swimming races.

Opening times – 10am – 6pm June, July August and weekends in May

Tooting Bec lido

At 90m long Tooting Bec is the UK’s largest outdoor swimming pool, wouldn’t have thought this would be in London would you! With its cool looking colourful changing rooms lined up by the pool it is also a very instagrammable spot.

Opening times – May – August 6am – 8pm /September 6am – 5pm / Members can also swim in the winter

Price – adult £4.25-£8.25 child £4.25-£5.40 / family packages available


Hamstead Heath swimming ponds

A very popular spot with Londoners, this is freshwater swimming in London at its most natural – there are 3 separate ponds to swim in – one for men, one for women and a mixed pond.

Oasis sports centre

Set in Covent Garden, bang in the middle of London, this is a great place for tourists who fancy a quick dip or a break from seeing the sights – particularly when it gets hot in the summer. There are also other facilities if you fancy a game of squash or hitting the gym whilst you’re there!

Brockwell Hill lido

Situated on the edge of the beautiful Brockwell Park – this lido boasts an Olympic size 50m pool next to a grade II listed building – be warned the water is cold as it is left to nature to do the warming, wetsuits are allowed and there is also a sauna!

Parliament Hill lido

Parliament Hill is a great place to go for views over London and also has a 60m long pool. It boasts a stainless steel pool liner which is the only one in an outdoor pool in the UK. It is also heated by nature but wetsuits are permitted!

Thames Lido

If you're looking for a place to go to outside of London, Thames Lido is the perfect spot. Located just an hour West of London in Reading, Thames Lido has a 25m heated pool along with saunas and a hot tub with the backdrop of a Grade II listed building - previously Edwardian baths. You can also get a massage and eat whilst you are there!


Location - Reading

Opening times - 6am-10pm (members) / afternoon sessions 1pm-4pm (non-members)

Price - £20 or £8 for a 1 hour swimming session
